My name is Pilar, I´m a visual artist, 25 years old, and born in Rio de Janeiro. This year I will graduate at the Art Academy of Rio de Janeiro. In my work I focus on the ecological consciouness, therefor I use natural materials and do a lot of recycling. The waste materials I re-use, a lot of them are just found in the streets.
Right now I´m involved with the project Atelier Favela. I show the children the importancy of recycling through arts, and teach them artistic skills that can be of use in their further lifes as grownups.
I´ve experiences with collective art through ´GRUPONOMURO´, a way of working I also would like to share with the kids, and my collegue artists at Atelier Favela.
