Hi, I´m Sabine, 25 years old, and founder of the concept of Atelier Favela. An idea that connects everyday more people around the world. The power of art, together, through all layers of society.

The idea grew getting to know people from the slums of Rio de Janeiro. Since my first visit to Brasil in 2004, for my study at that time Industrial Design Engineering TU Delft, I got this passion for this country and the people. The warmth of the Brazillian people, but also the disadventaged situations some of them have to survive through the continuous drugwar, were reasons for me to return to Brazil after my second study to be an Art Teacher. I decided to settle down in Brazil and take action! Atelier Favela was born.

In my own artistic work you will see the isolation that people from the favelas have to deal with. With the art I make I hope to create a social consiousness on social exclusion, and to fight together against it.
